On May 19, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee held a launch ceremony for the “Tet Trong Cay – Forever Remembering Uncle Ho” tree-planting campaign at Lang Le Cultural Park, Binh Loi Commune. On the morning of May 19, marking the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026), city leaders launched the tree-planting campaign together with the “City of a Thousand Flowers” movement. The ceremony was attended by leaders of the City People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front, and the City Farmers’ Association. The year 2026 marks the beginning of a new stage of development with greater goals and aspirations. The city aims to continue expanding public green spaces, raising the urban tree canopy coverage ratio, and mobilizing socio-political organizations, the business community, and residents to plant, care for, and protect trees and improve the urban landscape.
